Moving within Frankfurt has its own rules: Altbau stairwells in Nordend, one-way streets in Sachsenhausen, loading space that only exists once a no-parking zone is set up. This is our daily work — and we put the price in writing before the move, not on the phone afterwards.
Here is how it runs: you fill in the fixed-price calculator or write to info@umzugschef.de. We come for a survey on request — on site anywhere in Frankfurt, or by video call. Then a quote with the final amount is on the table. Survey, quote and every email in English, if you prefer. And whatever is not in the quote costs nothing.

Because our second base sits in Fulda, we drive the Frankfurt–Fulda route constantly. Useful the moment a relocation reaches beyond the edge of the Rhine-Main area.
What a move costs in Frankfurt
Two movers and a van cost €89 per hour, travel up to 20 km is included. A floor without a lift adds about 25 minutes — our calculator shows that before you ever talk to us. Halteverbot: the no-parking zone
In front of the Altbau blocks in Nordend or in the narrow streets of Sachsenhausen, the van only gets close to the door with an official permit. We apply for the temporary no-parking zone (Halteverbot) at the city’s public order office and put the signs up on schedule — at the old address and the new one. The municipal fee appears as its own line in the quote, without a markup.
Liability and payment
Every piece we transport is covered by law: €620 per cubic metre of load under § 451e HGB. For particularly valuable pieces we arrange additional insurance on request. Payment is due once the move is done — by bank transfer or in cash. We never ask for a deposit.
Beyond the city limits
In the immediate ring we are out every day: Offenbach, Hanau, Rüsselsheim, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Aschaffenburg. In the Taunus and the Wetterau add Oberursel, Bad Homburg and Bad Nauheim, in the Kinzig valley Gelnhausen, on the Bergstraße Bensheim. Northwards the area runs through Gießen, Wetzlar and Limburg up to Marburg — 91 road kilometres, still inside the 100 km in which the same written fixed price applies. East Hesse is handled by our team in Fulda.
Common questions about moving in Frankfurt
Do you move on weekends?
Yes — Saturdays always work, Sundays by arrangement. Weekend slots are the first to go, so get in touch early.
Altbau, fourth floor, no lift — do you take that?
Daily. Floors without a lift cost time, and exactly that time is in the quote: 25 minutes per floor and side. No surprise on moving day, no surcharge afterwards.
Do you dismantle furniture and pack?
Yes. Furniture assembly and the packing service go into the quote as their own lines — with boxes and wrap included if you want. Tell us at the survey what we should take over.
