Bad Nauheim has been a spa town since 1869, and the houses show it. Around the Sprudelhof and the drinking cure hall stands one of the best-preserved Jugendstil ensembles in Central Europe; the surrounding streets are Altbau flats with high ceilings, stucco — and stairwells that look wonderful and make every bend count double when you carry furniture.

What a move costs in Bad Nauheim
Two movers with a van cost €89 per hour. Frankfurt to Bad Nauheim is about 40 road kilometres: 20 are included in the hourly rate, the other 20 are billed at €1.20 per kilometre, so €24. Altbau, stucco, narrow stairwells
In the Jugendstil stock more gets damaged than elsewhere — walls, banisters, door frames. We pad the edges, dismantle wardrobes once too often rather than once too little, and pack the fragile pieces properly; the packing service can be limited to single rooms, say just the kitchen and the book wall.
Halteverbot in the spa quarter
Around the Sprudelhof and Parkstraße, parking without a permit is a lottery. We apply for the temporary no-parking zone with the city of Bad Nauheim, put the signs up in good time and list the fee separately.
Liability and payment
Every piece we transport is covered by law: €620 per cubic metre of load under § 451e HGB. Payment is due once the move is done — by bank transfer or in cash. We never ask for a deposit.

From October 1958 to March 1960 he really did live in Bad Nauheim while stationed in Friedberg. For us the same things count everywhere: access, floor, volume. The rest is anecdote.
